Apple TV’s Pluribus immediately captured fans’ attention from its very first teaser. And the streaming service obviously believed that this series by Vince Gilligan would be a success because it got a two season order from the beginning. The first season of Pluribus made its debut in November 2025 and gave us yet another reason to love Rhea Seehorn. And Gilligan is already hard at work at Pluribus season two, with the writers’ room in full swing.
He spoke about the current status of this next season during Apple TV’s press day in Santa Monica. “We’re plugging away,” answered Gilligan. “My writers are plugging away. All the folks, if you like the show, thank you for getting us here on this stage. It takes a long time to come up with these episodes. We are deeper into the process at this moment than I would like, considering how few episodes we have figured out. But it takes some time, just as it did the first season.”

But, if you think that means another season is hitting your TV screens in 2026, you’re wrong. Gilligan is managing expectations for Pluribus season two, quickly saying it won’t come back as quickly as The Pitt. “We appreciate everybody’s patience,” he said. “But it ain’t gonna be The Pitt, coming back every year. I wish it would be because it’s an awesome show that’s old-school, like we used to do The X-Files [when] we’d come back the same month every year. It will not be like The Pitt. We’ll come back the same month—just the question is what year.”
I’d bet my money on it being November 2027. In a world with so many competing streaming offerings, ya don’t wanna stay gone too long.
