UNSOLVED MYSTERIES Is Back And Has A Spooky New Trailer

If you’re a child of the ‘90s, chances are you have haunting memories of Unsolved Mysteries. The mystery series ran from 1987 to 2002, and then again from 2008 to 2010, and had a variety of hosts, but none so iconic as Robert Stack. Every episode features four segments, each detailing a separate unsolved mystery. These range from missing persons to UFOs and the paranormal. The blend of reality and supernatural gave the show its peculiar eeriness—and the unsolved nature is why it crept into so many of our consciousnesses.

Now, the show is back, this time on the streaming service Netflix. (Ever heard of it?) The official trailer is now online and guess what? Unsolved Mysteries looks as terrifying as ever.

The familiar theme music punches us right in the nostalgia gut, but there’s so much more to love here. This version looks smooth, updated, almost prestigious compared to the low-fi feel of the original. And if that disconnect worries you, it shouldn’t! The new Unsolved Mysteries comes from the same creators of the original docuseries. It’s also produced by 21 Laps Entertainment, the company that brought us Stranger Things.

Here’s the official trailer for Unsolved Mysteries and the official synopsis from Netflix:

The iconic series Unsolved Mysteries is back! Fusing signature elements from the original series with contemporary immersive, character-driven storytelling, the 12 new episodes are rooted in the experiences of ordinary people who have lived the unthinkable — from the trauma of a loved one’s unexplained disappearance or horrific death, to the shock of a bizarre paranormal encounter. Alongside detectives and journalists, family members offer clues, present theories, and identify suspects, hoping one viewer holds the key to solving the mystery.

The first six episodes of the new Unsolved Mysteries hit Netflix on July 1. Are you ready for terror all over again?
