This Pre-Civil War MCU Supercut Makes Us Equal Parts Excited And Curious

Powered by Geek & Sundry

As we grow closer to the May 6, 2016, release of Captain America: Civil War, speculation of how the film will impact the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe ( MCU) continues. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo  have mentioned that the film will have a controversial ending but what exactly does that even mean? The guys over at MCU Exchange have edited together a brilliant supercut of all of the events leading up to Captain America: Civil War. The video does an especially excellent job of outlining how the films so far have left Tony Stark and Steve Rogers ultimately with opposing viewpoints on how to best protect the world.

Check out the supercut here:

Did you get goosebumps too? While this supercut succeeds in getting us even more stoked for May, it also raises more questions about where we’ve come from and what the MCU will look like at the end of Captain America: Civil War. Here are just a few questions we have about the fate of the MCU:

Will the ending of the Civil War film storyline differ hugely from the comic?

Without completely spoiling anything, the Civil War storyline in the comics ends pretty tragically for a major character. Has every movie in the MCU been leading up to this very tragic end or will they end up going the route of a less drastic ending? The tension between Iron Man and Captain America has been building since Steve Rogers entered the scene, but perhaps the two can just hug it out? That’d be pretty adorable.

What exactly will be Bucky’s role within the MCU by the end of Civil War?

Sebastian Stan (the actor who plays Steve Rogers’ best buddy Bucky) is rumored to have signed a 9-picture deal with Marvel, leading many to believe he will be following in the footsteps of the comics and actually take over the role of Captain America from Chris Evans. Dare we even imagine a Chris Evans-less MCU? Either way, it’s clear that Bucky will be around for awhile but what’s not clear is how he will factor into the universe as a whole post-Civil War.

Where will S.H.I.E.L.D. be by the end of Civil War?

S.H.I.E.L.D. has struggled not only to control the Avengers but also against countless public relations nightmares over the years. With members of the Avengers appearing less than friendly in Captain America: Civil War, where will this leave the organization? If they can’t stop the in-fighting, how can they protect the world?

Where do you think the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be at the end of Captain America: Civil War? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
