THE SUICIDE SQUAD Cast And First Footage Revealed

The extensive cast of The Suicide Squad appeared at DC FanDome on Saturday with writer and director James Gunn. First, Gunn popped in to set up the panel, and mentioned that The Suicide Squad is the most fun he’s ever had working on a film. (Sorry, Guardians.) He also said the character he was most excited to write for was Harley Quinn. Jake from State Farm even popped in to ask a question. Because, you know, 2020.

After the Q&A portion, Gunn debuted a fun video that introduced us to the full cast and the characters they’re playing. And holy cow, what a cast it is!

The team played a fun trivia game which gave us a closer look at the cast dynamic, and though that was very charming, it wasn’t all! The panel also debuted a behind-the-scenes video that gave us our first real look at the film, which Gunn described as a “gritty ’70s war movie.” You can get that vibe from the footage. And this reel definitely shows off some awesome action sequences. Um, yes please!

Please note, among other cool things, how awesome Harley Quinn’s costumes look.

The Suicide Squad is currently scheduled for release on August 6, 2021.
