We all know that food deserves love, true love. Well, wove, twu wove. And if it’s food from the 1987 classic The Princess Bride, then it’s a dream within a dream. Nerdist will not make you play a battle of wits to find out the exclusive news we have today. We’re here to reveal The Princess Bride Cookbook: The Official Cookbook! This tome collects over 50 dishes seen in, and inspired by, the film. We have a look at the cover, too. Westley and Buttercup appear in an iconic movie moment in the background, while plates of delicious-looking dishes cover the table in front of them.
If just thinking about The Princess Bride cookbook is making you feel hungry, wait until you learn about some of the recipes. Examples include:
- Buttercup Buttermilk Scones
- Hash You Wish
- Farm Boy Breakfast
- Six-Fingered Sandwiches
- Chips of Insanity
- MLT
- The Grandson’s Soup and Sandwich
- Vizzini’s Sicilian Meatballs
- Fezzik’s Stew
- The Spaniard’s Paella
- Bread Pirate Roberts
- Twu Wove’s Kiss Cookies
- Iocane Powder Punch
- Inigo Montoya’s Taste of Revenge
I’m glad to see the Grandson’s snack on there. You need comfort food when you don’t feel well and also when your grandfather reads to you. Even reading the recipe title of The Grandson’s Soup and Sandwich makes me feel cozy.
And in the fantastical part of The Princess Bride story, we see how the film’s scenes have inspired recipes. Of course Vizzini would have a recipe rooted in Sicilian tradition. “Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line!” Fezzik and Inigo get nods too. Maybe the best recipe title, though? Bread Pirate Roberts. Whatever that involves, we can’t wait to make it.
The Princess Bride Cookbook: The Official Cookbook arrives on December 6, 2022. You can place your pre-order now.
