THE KING’S MAN Goes to War in New Trailer

We’ve seen the dapper men and women of The Secret Service use the most sophisticated technology of the 21st century to defeat their enemies. However, as the new trailer for The King’s Man—the Kingsman franchise’s upcoming prequel film—shows, there are a certain set of skills that agents in the clandestine intelligence agency have been relying on since the organization’s founding. They have always needed a sharp mind, training in battle, courage, honor, and proper manners. Because as long as evil men seek to destroy the world, someone has to stand up to them—and you always want to look your best when saving lives.

This latest action-packed look at director Matthew Vaughn’s newest entry in his Kingsman franchise, which explores the origins of the intelligence agency around the time of of WWI, stars Ralph Fiennes as the organization’s founder, the Duke of Oxford. Much like the first movie in the series, which saw Harry Hart (Colin Firth) take young Eggsy (Taron Egerton) under his tutelage, here we see the Duke bring Harris Dickinson’s Conrad into the fold. He will need his young recruit’s help, since the stakes are as high as ever for the new organization as “a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions.”

At the center of that destruction are some shadowy figures, along with the very public face of the infamous Rasputin. This trailer also hints a major threat the agency will need to deal with is a chemical warfare attack on a mass scale. But if anyone can pull off wearing a gas mask in a three-piece suit it’s definitely The Secret Service. They’ve been fighting tyrants and looking sharp for a hundred years now.

The King’s Man—which also stars Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance—comes to theaters next year, on February 14, 2020.
