Ready for something that will blow your mind? I’m not sure that you are. But here it is. The Hunger Games movie first released on March 23, 2012. Correct. Nearly 10 years ago. So, you don’t really want to know when you first read the book. But for those who have loved the franchise for a decade (plus), 10 years bring a treat. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Lionsgate will release The Hunger Games 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital SteelBook collection.
That sounds like quite the mouthful. But what it’s saying boils down to… You will get to experience the films like never before. The collection features all four of The Hunger Games movies. And when you watch them, these movies will appear in their crispest, most beautiful forms. Not to mention, they’ll live on in style.
According to a release:
The Collection features artwork from top artists Flore Maquin, Ise Ananphada, Alice X. Zhang, Tula Lotay, Paige Reynolds, Aracely Muñoz, Gemma O’Brien, Lauren Hom, Meni Chatzipanagiotou and Gia Graham.
We get a little glimpse of the magic in the released image of the collection. But we know the art will look even more incredible up close. Together, all the inner sleeves form the map of Panem. And externally, each movie gets a stunning rendition of Katniss to accompany it. She is, after all, our Mockingjay.
On the cover of the SteelBook, Katniss’ wings stream out like fire. They unfurl to reveal all the other beloved (and less beloved) characters from the franchise. A fitting homage to the franchise.
The Hunger Games 10th anniversary collection also offers bonus features for invested fans. These include audio commentaries, featurettes, deleted scenes, documentaries, and more. Ten years is a lot of time to collect content, after all. And we bet watching through will make you nostalgic.
The Hunger Games 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital SteelBook collection will release exclusively at Best Buy. It will be available on March 22, 2022. Just in time for a 10th anniversary rewatch party of The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games collection is available for pre-order now. May the odds be ever in your favor.
