Good Place fans, rejoice! The series just dropped a video that will make you excited and pretty forking bummed over its upcoming fourth and final season. The clip gives a couple of small peeks into Eleanor faking as the Architect and interacting with new Good Place (but really Medium Place) residents alongside Janet. Of course, there’s not a lot of information about whether Chidi will regain his memories (anything is possible) nor if the Soul Squad can actually change the afterlife rules for good, but all will be revealed by the series finale.
The first look also gives fans a nice recap of what happened at the end of Season 3 and what to expect from Season 4, including a few tearful goodbyes. The cast is understandably sad, even “forking furious,” but they reflected on the show’s impact and how much fun they had onset together. Several flashbacks from great moments play across the screen as Jameela Jamil says any bad acting can be blamed on Ted Danson. Manny Jacinto also pokes fun at Danson, saying he must take pictures so his co-worker will remember working with him. Their quips are a reminder of how awesome everyone’s chemistry is both on the show and in real life.
It will be hard to let this brilliant comedy series go, but anytime a show gets a chance to wrap up the story on its own terms is a great thing. There have been so many twists and turns along this Jeremy Bearimy timeline, so the fate of Chidi, Eleanor, Tahani, Jason, Michael, and the real MVP Janet could honestly go anywhere. Let’s just hope there final place will be a truly happy one because they all deserve it. Everything doesn’t feel fine right now, but it will be fine.
The Good Place returns to NBC on September 26.
