THE DINOSAURS Roar Back to Life in New Trailer

Once upon a time, dinosaurs roamed the land. Herds of Tricerotops ran free, Pterodactyls soared through the sky, and the roar of the mighty T-Rex echoed for all to hear. Jurassic Park showed us what might happen if they existed in our time, but what if we could peek into theirs? On Thursday, Netflix announced that these prehistoric creatures will soon re-emerge in a never-before-seen way. Through the creative lens of executive producer Steven Spielberg and narrated by Morgan Freeman comes a new vision. Here’s the trailer and first look images for Netlix’s four-episode documentary series, The Dinosaurs.

The Dinosaurs Roar Back to Life | Official Trailer

It’s a trailer that almost feels larger than life. From producer Steven Spielberg and Amblin Entertainment, and the creators that brought us Our Planet, The Dinosaurs is an epic journey through time. The series documents the rise and fall of the prehistoric race across millions of years. Where they came from, how they evolved, how they met their demise. From the jump, the visuals are hypnotizing. A shark swims unknowingly into the jaws of a Spinosaurus, making it look the size of a fish. The score only adds to the intensity.

The Dinosaurs will have four 60-minute episodes, each one narrated by Academy Award–winner Morgan Freeman. Freeman narrating the project feels like an impeccable choice. The series features a massive lineup of species—from the tiny Marasuchus to apex predators like the Allosaurus. I may be biased in saying this (since I’ve loved dinosaurs from a young age) but the visual effects are seriously chill-inducing. The trailer flashes through captivating landscapes, cascades of creatures, and plumes of smoke and fire. It even looks like we’re in for a dino fight or two.

The series is to be directed by Nick Shoolingin-Jordan in collaboration with Silverback Films and Amblin Documentaries. An incredible journey into a lost world. In Freeman’s words, “this is the story of the dinosaurs.” Personally, I can’t wait.

The Dinosaurs roar over to Netflix on March 6.
