There are some fabled heroes who will continue to have their stories told over and over again, like Robin Hood. People of all generations know the basics about this guy (or that fox, if you love the animated film). He stole from the rich and gave to the poor and even fell in love with a fair maiden. But A24 is approaching the tale of Robin Hood from an entirely different perspective with Hugh Jackman taking on the character. In the trailer for The Death of Robin Hood, Jackman is an older and grizzled version of him, and he’s no hero. In fact, this Robin Hood has a very violent and bloody past.
In the clip, Robin Hood is reconciling his long past of crime and murder. He gets into what he thought would be his last showdown and becomes severely injured. He’s in the hands of a mystery lady (hmmm) who offers him a final chance at salvation.
Seeing Hugh Jackman play an older version of Robin Hood was not on our 2026 radar, but we are kinda hype to see it happen. The Death of Robin Hood boasts a very intriguing and bloody trailer, which shows off other cast members like Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe.
