Texas Pete Lassoes Spaghetti Western Film for National Hot Sauce Day

The sun scorches down over the desolate town, nothing but the wind whistling in the distance. A lonely tumbleweed passes by. Fingertips twitch as a standoff ensues outside the Saloon. You get the cliche. Spaghetti westerns are a classic Hollywood trope and have been for decades. Now, in 2026 a famous hot sauce brand try its hand at the genre. To celebrate National Hot Sauce Day on March 19, Texas Pete Hot Sauce is coming out with a spaghetti western short film with a wild trailer. Now there’s a headline you don’t read every day.

The hot sauce brand released a teaser for its big screen debut in January. It takes us to the desolate town of Flavorado. There, a young hero stands off against a spaghetti-slinging tyrant, using the bold flavors of Texas Pete as his weapon. Fittingly, the spoof is simply called Spaghetti Western. Safe to say, our interest is piqued.

From Franco Nero’s “Django” to Clint Eastwood’s “Man With No Name,” there have been countless gun-slinging outlaws over the years. None, however, is quite as saucy as this one. I did a bit of digging on this silly little short and found so much as a lonely tumbleweed (go figure). I did discover that the film will be directed by Ryan Polly and run for about 40 minutes. Here’s what Texas Pete wrote in the caption of their teaser post.

Spaghetti as we know it is about to change forever. Saddle up for the upcoming Texas Pete Spaghetti Western on the big screen. Is there a better way to celebrate National Hot Sauce day?

The whole thing is outrageously satirical and amusingly strange. I can’t say I’ve ever tried spaghetti with Texas Pete’s hot sauce, but, hey, maybe now is the time. Perhaps it is the cardinal rule that spaghetti is better spicy. Texas Pete’s A Spaghetti Western will likely be available to watch on the brand’s YouTube channel come March 19.
