New TERMINATOR: DARK FATE Images Reveal Arnold As The T-800

When Arnold said “I’ll be back” in 1984, he really meant it. Since then, he’s been back as the T-800 four times, with a sixth installment of the Terminator franchise, Terminator: Dark Fate, hitting theaters on November 1. We have a whole new crop of images to share for the upcoming return of not only Arnold Schwarzenegger, but also Linda Hamilton’s grand return to the series that made her an icon.

This newest installment is directed by Deadpool‘s Tim Miller, and produced by James Cameron, the man behind the original two films. Much like last year’s Halloween, it will ignore all the previous sequels to The Terminator, save for T2: Judgement Day. This explains how Linda Hamilton’s character is still alive; she died off screen between T2 and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. The film also stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta. You can check out all the images below:

We know very little about the story of Dark Fate so far. Even with these new images. We know Schwarzenegger will once again be playing an aged Terminator unit who has been living and passing for human for over three decades.  It’s a similar story point to Terminator: Genysis. The film will also include some flashbacks to the events of T2. Body doubles will stand in for both Arnold’s friendly T-800 and Edward Furlong’s young John Connor.

So far Dark Fate has not announced casting for the adult future freedom fighter John Connor. The character has been played in various media by Furlong, Nick Stahl, Thomas Dekker, and Jason Clarke. Does this mean John is dead in the present? Is the “dark fate” the heroes are trying to prevent his death in the past? We’ll find out on November 1, when Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters!
