STRANGER THINGS Actor Did NOT Like Finale and Wants Ninth Episode

Stranger Things 5 has come and gone, and we’ve finally made peace with the fact that Conformity Gate does not exist. Society has moved on, turned the other cheek, accepted that there’s no secret ninth episode, and… oh wait. What’s that? Matthew Modine HATED the finale? Welp, guess not everyone has made peace with the situation. Modine, who plays Dr. Brenner throughout the series, did not like the final episode of Stranger Things, and he’s making sure we know it. Papa want more movie.

Did Matthew Modine Like the Ending of Stranger Things? Nope.

If you somehow (miraculously, because how?) missed the rampant mass hysteria of Conformity Gate, allow me to paint a picture. It’s January 1. Episode eight drops. We’re in denial. Society is convinced that the ending is fake. It’s all a Vecna mind game. Everyone starts piecing together clues that point to a secret ninth episode with the real ending (which does not exist, less in the great beyond somewhere). Yada, yada. Turns out, Papa was right there with us. When a fan asked Modine if he liked the finale of Stranger Things,” the actor replied with a simple “nope.”

Moreover, it seems like Modine is a proud Conformity Gate follower. When another fan asked the actor if he believed in episode nine, Modine replied with “hoping so for the fans.” He’s the only cast member to publicly complain about the show’s ending to date. That, alone, is something worth talking about.

The million dollar question: Does Modine’s comment about Conformity Gate spark new evidence for the theory?? Well, sadly, no. Let’s not tease ourselves again. But it sure is validating to know that one of the show’s stars feels the same way as many of us did.

To be clear, I actually didn’t hate the Stranger Things finale. I thought it was a nice, heartwarming way to round off the long-standing series and its many storylines. Even so, I do see the argument of the opposing view. And I absolutely understand our unquenchable thirst for more. But that chapter is closed. Well, excluding animated spin-offs.
