Stan Lee’s Voice and Likeness Coming Back via AI Partnership

Every day, it seems, we’re reacting to a new story about a deceased entertainment legend “coming back to life” in some way. All thanks to some form of AI technology. This is happening whether we all like it or not. Most recently, it was rock god Ozzy Osbourne, who only passed away last year. Now, ElevenLabs is announcing a landmark partnership with Stan Lee Universe that brings back the officially licensed voice, likeness, and “storytelling spirit” of the co-creator of most of Marvel Comics’ most iconic characters. Umm…Excelsior?

Using AI, Stan Lee’s voice is now available on the ElevenLabs Iconic Marketplace, the Eleven Reader app. In an official statement, we learned that Lee’s voice is “Crafted from professional recordings that capture his unmistakable warmth, wit, and energy.” According to ElevenLabs, this so-called “voice clone” lets fans experience Lee’s narration and storytelling. All in a manner that “feels true” to the Marvel legend and creator of Spider-Man, the Avengers, and the X-Men. We’re sure this isn’t going to be controversial to Stan Lee’s legion of fans at all. (Yes, that was extreme sarcasm on our part.)

Sure to be even more controversial, Stan Lee’s visual likeness is coming to the ElevenLabs Image and Video Marketplace. Soon, users will have the ability to generate visual content featuring Stan Lee’s legendary visage. The partnership also marks the launch of the Stan Lee Book of the Month Club inside Eleven Reader. This monthly celebration honors some of the literature Stan loved, beginning with the pirate classic, Treasure Island. The company will add one public domain novel to the Stan Lee Book of the Month Club. One book per month for a full year. For those of you out there who are curious, Stan Lee’s voice is available now on the Iconic Marketplace and Eleven Reader.
