When Magic: The Gathering revealed its first release from its collaboration with Marvel, it teased us that a Spider-Man-centric tentpole booster release would arrive in 2025. Well, it’s 2025 now and we have our first-look at Magic: The Gathering‘s Spider-Man set titled, Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man. (We love a title that lets us know exactly what’s going on.) Let’s dive into what’s been revealed, including first looks at the Marvel x Magic: The Gathering Spider-Man cards, pre-order details, and release date information.
A First-Look at the Cards and Characters of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man
Much to the excitement of both Magic: The Gathering and Marvel fans, we have our first official look at the Magic: The Gathering Spider-Man cards. The six Spider-Man Magic cards revealed come from a product in the line called Spidey’s Spectacular Showdown Scene Box. In addition to three Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man Play Boosters, the Scene Box comes with six cards that come together to make, you guessed it, a scene. You can take a look at the very cool image that these cards make below. Or, as Magic: The Gathering describes it, “Friendly. Amazing. Spectacular.”

An official page shares, “Spider-Man’s classic Parker luck often makes him the underdog. We’ve captured one of his epic clashes of good and evil in the Spidey’s Spectacular Showdown Scene Box, featuring six traditional foil new-to-Magic cards.” The six cards that make up the scene include: Grasping Tentacles, Venome, Deadly Devourer, Green Goblin, Nemesis, Doc Ock, Evil Inventor, Sensational Spider-Man, and Pumpkin Bombs. Phew, that is quite a showdown indeed. These cards are borderless and in traditional foil.

Only six cards into Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man, and we’ve already seen three of Spidey’s most epic foes and their signature weapons. The rest of the Magic: The Gathering set promises to feature “iconic characters and moments from across decades of Spider-Man stories. You’ll see Super Heroes swing through the streets of New York as they battle dastardly villains.” And as you add these cards into your favorite decks, Magic wants you to remember Spider-Man’s most important message, “Anyone can wear the mask, and anyone can be a Super Hero.” We’ll get more looks at Spider-Man cards from Magic and Marvel as we get closer to the release of the collection.

More About This New Set
Magic: The Gathering is changing things up with this Marvel Spider-Man line. The company shares, “As part of our continued efforts to reduce complexity, we are retiring the Universes Beyond frame and unifying all Magic: The Gathering frames within the standard Magic style. Eagle-eyed fans out there will notice that, starting with Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man, Universes Beyond cards will no longer have the inverted triangle replacing the standard oval security stamp for rare and mythic rare cards, as well as the stamp printed in silver on common and uncommon Universes Beyond cards.”
We can’t wait to see more from Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man very soon.
