Solar Powered Headphones Will Relieve Your Daily Charging Woes

How many of you have left the house, ready to listen to some music on a long commute or walk, only to find that you forgot to charge your beats or earbuds, again?! Well, this is a problem for past you, because now you can upgrade your headphones and never have to worry about charging them again. Solar-powered headphones not only use natural energy but, wait for it, they charge themselves.

The new Adidas RPT-02 SOL are wireless in every way. They convert both natural and artificial light into power. This means that you’ll always have a charge for your solar headphones. Whether you’re working out in the gorgeous outdoors (as all the ads seem to show) or just sitting under flickering fluorescent lights in a cubicle all day. And at a cost of $229, they’re pretty close to what AirPods and other high-quality headphones cost these days.

We saw this new offering thanks to DesignTAXI. The product is partially made from recycled plastic. The headphones are also sweatproof and splashproof, according to Adidas. There’s an app to check on the power levels. And it can be plugged in via USB-C if needed. Maybe people who work in caves all day might need to use this feature?

Whether you’re listening to music, podcasts, or just wearing the headphones so people won’t talk to you on the bus, this new technology from Adidas will be there for you. And you don’t have to remember the charging cable or find a plug. Other interesting headphones headed to the market include the Dyson Zone. On top of the noise pollution-cancelling ear pieces, it boasts a mouth-covering filtration system to filter out air pollution.
