“What’s your favorite scary movie?” We’re not sure if Ghostface will be asking this to Sub-Zero or other Mortal Kombat fighters, but we sure hope so. The iconic killer from the Scream franchise is coming to Mortal Kombat 1, and developer NetherRealm Studios released a video featuring the infamous slasher’s gameplay, in its full stabtastic glory. Actually, we should say infamous slashers plural, as Ghostface is actually thirteen different taunting and sarcastic killers, but why quibble? You can watch three full minutes of Ghostface gameplay from Mortal Kombat 1 in the video down below:
The video shows us a Fatality start to play out on screen. Afterward, the camera pulls out through a television screen, and we see that Johnny Cage is playing Mortal Kombat 1. And just like that, Johnny Cage is attacked by yet another Ghostface, suffering a bloody and painful demise. So just which Ghostface is it in this game? Is it OG Ghostface killers Billy Loomis and Stu Macher? Our wild card pick is Roman Bridger. After all, he has the most kills in the franchise at nine in Scream 3. He’s the only Scream slasher we think could really do any damage in the world of Mortal Kombat.
We can’t be certain, but that sure sounds to us like the official voice of Ghostface, Roger L. Jackson, voicing him in the game. Ghostface officially arrives as a part of Mortal Kombat 1 on Nov. 19, all a part of the game’s Khaos Reigns expansion. Ghostface won’t be the only pop culture figure coming to the game. Very soon, the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Conan the Barbarian will join in the fun as the next two guest characters. Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
