SCOOBY-DOO AND GUESS WHO Promises Cameos Galore

Just as much as ghouls and ghosts, mysteries and masks, an iconic van and plenty of snacks, one of the defining traits of classic Scooby-Doo episodes were those great celebrity cameos. Now our favorite group of teenage sleuths is returning with an all new series, Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, and they’re bringing a whole lot of famous friends with them to solve mysteries around the globe.

The animated streaming site Boomerang announced today that their all upcoming cartoon, Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, will debut on Thursday, June 27, with new episodes every week until the season finale on Sept. 19. It will also air weekly on Cartoon Network in the U.S., before being available globally later this year on Boomerang. And based on the first trailer for the series that accompanied the premiere date announcement, it doesn’t just look like vintage Scooby-Doo episodes generations of fans loved growing up, it captures the spirit of the show, especially when it comes to all of the celebs who will show up. From some of the biggest names in Hollywood, music, comedy, and the NBA, to some of the most famous fictional figures in animation, literature, television, and comic books, anyone and everyone will be coming along to help the Mystery Inc. solve cases.

Wonder Woman and Scooby-Doo? Yup, that’ll do. But she’s far from the only big name we’ll see. Each week a different celeb, some real and some fictional, will join those meddling kids. The season one list of celebrity cameos includes:

  • NBA Superstar Chris Paul
  • Sia
  • Wanda Sykes
  • Ricky Gervais
  • Wonder Woman (voiced by Rachel Kimsey)
  • Weird Al Yankovic
  • Kenan Thompson
  • Steve Urkel (voiced by Jaleel White)
  • Penn & Teller
  • Batman (voiced by Kevin Conroy)
  • Jim Gaffigan
  • Abraham Lincoln (voiced by John DiMaggio)
  • Sherlock Holmes (voiced by Ian James Corlett)

Uh…..holy crap. Batman is going to help Mystery Inc. solve a case! And Weird Al most likely won’t!

That lineup is so scary good we imagine Shaggy is going to have to hide in a closet when he sees it. But don’t worry, Sherlock Holmes should be able to find him. Scooby-Doo!

It’s always nice to have famous detective friends.
