It’s not just Ryan Gosling’s world right now. It’s Ryan Gosling’s universe. He currently has the biggest movie on the planet with his intergalactic hit Project Hail Mary. The three-time Academy Award nominee is also flying around the galaxy far, far right now. He’ the lead of Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter. And now Gosling has already lined up his next big project. He will star in the next movie from the Oscar-winning directors of Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Deadline first reported Universal Pictures and the Daniels, the directing team of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, have decided Ryan Gosling is more than Kenough for their next big movie. Nothing is known about the movie. Not even a title. But the name and plot likely won’t remain a mystery for long. The film, in development at Universal since 2024, will begin shooting this summer in Los Angeles. The “untitled event film” is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 19, 2027. (That will be just months after Star Wars: Starfighter premieres on May 28.)
If it holds to that schedule that means it will be five-and-a-half years between theatrical releases for the Daniels. This new is their first since they cleaned up at the 2023 Oscars for Everything Everywhere All At Once. The duo personally took home three Academy Awards that night as their film picked up seven total. Considering the major categories the movie won, it was easily among the most successful nights any film has ever had at Hollywood’s premiere event.

It will be hard for any movie (ever) to reach those heights, but considering what their star, Barbie‘s Ryan Gosling has accomplished at the box office the last few years, we won’t rule out anything. It’s just his universe and we’re all living in it.
