When Walt Disney World said it was closing Muppet*Vision 3D it softened the blow by also announcing the iconic group wasn’t going anywhere. They weren’t even leaving Hollywood Studios. They were going to take over Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster from Aerosmith. Now, just a few months after the ride closed, Jim Henson’s legendary group is ready to rock out with guests. Disney has announced the ride’s new track list, guest stars and musicians, and opening day for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

The Electric Mayhem will officially kick off its residency (once someone finds them) in Hollywood Studios on May 26. When they do Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips will be playing one of five random songs on the ride. The five tracks include some big names, the biggest of which is a chicken. From the Disney Parks Blog:
- “Song 2” – The Electric Mayhem
- “Born To Be Wild” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Camilla the Chicken
- “Love Rollercoaster” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove
- “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard
- “Walking on Sunshine” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson
Disney says, “Each song brings its own energy, tempo, and attitude, creating a concert style experience where the soundtrack doesn’t just play – it goes from zero to sixty in three… two… one!”
Along with great new posters celebrating the band’s past exploits, other celebrities are also getting in on the fun. Guest spots will start in the attraction’s queue and continue all the way through the gift shop. Those famous faces include: Awkwafina, Danny Trejo, Darren Criss, John Stamos, Neil Patrick Harris, Travis Barker, Yvette Nicole Brown, Wayne Brady, and human Muppet “Weird Al” Yankovic.
We thought we couldn’t possibly be anymore excited for this Muppet re-theme, but then we saw these videos with The Electric Mayhem’s new collaborators and realized we were wrong.
The ride opens for all guests on May 26. However, some cast members, DVC members, and annual pass holders will get an early sneak peek.
