To say that Queen’s song “Bohemian Rhapsody” is popular is kind of like saying the Death Star is deadly. The statement doesn’t nearly capture the magnitude of the powerhouse it describes. Upon hearing those two titular words strung together, your brain doubtlessly conjures at least a few notes—or a few scaramouches—from the epic six-minute track, and possibly some associated images (Suicide Squad trailer, anyone?). But now, thanks to the above mashup video, you can associate the timeless song with just about every movie you’ve ever seen.
The video, which contains scenes from 260 films, comes via Tastefully Offensive and was created by Glenn O Neill, the mind behind the Youtube Channel Coponfilms. Below the video, O Neill tried to squeeze in the list of films used in the mashup, but stopped at #216 because he literally ran out of space in the description box.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqdCFSQOtJ0
Some of the movies you may (read: will definitely) recognize are: The Breakfast Club, This Is Spinal Tap, Toy Story 3, The LEGO Movie, Robocop, Office Space, and The Matrix. (It seems like it would be very difficult to think of a film that was shot in color that doesn’t have a clip present in this video.)
And even though none of the voices even come close to Freddie Mercury’s—the greatness of which has been deconstructed by science—it’s still pretty cool to see a bunch of disparate performances make up the one song. Plus it may get you in the mood to watch Wayne’s World again.
