Nicole Kidman’s Infamous AMC Ad Pin-Stripe Suit Is Up for Auction

From the moment Nicole Kidman lowered her hood and entered that empty AMC theater in her now world-famous ad, fans have been in awe of her impeccable fashion sense. Let’s be real, that glittery pin-striped suit? It’s just instantly iconic. And now, it can be yours for a hefty price tag. Via Variety, we’ve learned that Kidman’s Michael Kors outfit is going up for auction for $5,000 to $10,000 as part of Sotheby’s new “Visions of America” series. Five to ten grand seems worth it to own such a piece of cinema history, if you ask us.

Just how intense is the obsession with Nicole Kidman’s AMC ad? Well, recently a Loungefly backpack came out that evoked her pin-striped suit. Drag superstar Katya Zamo wore a shirt with her entire speech printed on it with tiny rhinestones on her podcast. According to the original report, some moviegoers have actually printed the transcript of her speech and handed them out to patrons so they can recite along with Nicole, Rocky Horror Picture Show style. Luckily, no one has started throwing things at the screen yet. We don’t want that for the poor AMC employees who have to clean up after us. They have to deal with enough as it is.

Nicole Kidman is said to be filming a new AMC ad, a sequel to the original. Hopefully, we don’t lose priceless lines like “Heartbreak feels good in a place like this.” But now that we know the pin-stripe suit is gone, we’re just slightly less excited for part two. The award-winning actress will no doubt show up in some new incredible couture fashion. Hopefully, it’s a look that people will pay thousands of dollars to own in the near future. Exhibitions for this Sotheby’s auction will be open to the public from January 12-19, with auctions running from January 19-29.
