Every year on March 10th we gather to celebrate plumbers, princesses, and, yes, even koopas. And anyone who doesn’t know why deserves the Luigi Death Stare. Sure, if they don’t already know about MAR10 Day there’s a good chance they won’t have any idea what that is. But soon you’ll have the perfect visual guide to help explain why a video game character’s glare means so much to us. LEGO is one again celebrating Super Mario holiday by adding a Mario Kart piece to its Nintendo collectible. This year we’re getting a new LEGO Luigi & Mach 8 Set.

The LEGO Super Mario line is getting a big new addition. And we do mean big. The “highly detailed” LEGO Mario Kart – Luigi & Mach 8 Set measures over 10-inches tall, 16-inches long, and 9-inches wide. And at 2,234-piece model is even bigger than last year’s Mario & Standard Kart set. This Luigi-driven one is also LEGO’s first-ever large-scale recreation of the Mach 8. Designed for ages 18 and up, it features a Luigi figure that has a posable head, arms, and hands. It also comes with a display that will let you pose yours at “dynamic, race-ready angles.”
That’s if you want it to stay still. This LEGO Luigi & Mach 8 set can actually hit the road when you take it off the stand. It not only has front wheels that move, but it also comes with a working steering wheel to guide them. And when the back wheels spin, they generate the Mach 8’s flame exhaust in LEGO form.

You can already pre-order your LEGO Mario Kart – Luigi & Mach 8 Set ($179.99). It officially launches at LEGO.com, in LEGO Stores, and on the LEGO Insiders App on April 1. It will then stare down any of your other LEGO sets that might think they still have a chance to win against your most intimidating plastic brick replica.
We feel bad for anyone who doesn’t already know what that means.
