The appeal of reality television is the drama. It’s mind-numbing entertainment. A wildfire you just can’t look away from. And nine times out of ten, the hottest bombshells are dropped in the confessional booth. McDonald’s is giving everyone a space to lay it all out in the open, too. The fast-food chain teams up with Love Island star Olandria Carthen to open a confessional booth where fans can share their first job stories in exchange for a free meal.

Maybe your first job was a neighborhood babysitting gig, bussing tables at a restaurant, or perhaps working retail. No matter what it was, our first jobs certainly stick with us. In honor of National Employee Appreciation Day, McDonald’s opens a space for fans to share their first job stories—or nightmares, in some cases. Starting March 6, anyone can step into the chain’s reality television-inspired confessional booth. Teaming up with McDonald’s for this juicy promotional is TV personality Olandria Carthen, who became an internet sensation after her season on Love Island. The Bama girl shares her journey.
“Before I was on TV, I was just a small-town girl from Bama, raised by a family that believes in clocking in, working hard and doing things the right way,” said Carthen. “My mom and sister worked at McDonald’s and showed me that our first jobs teach us skills we carry for life. That really hit home in my first job as a babysitter, where I learned to multitask, communicate and be responsible for more than just myself. This campaign feels like a full-circle moment because it honors my family’s journey and the first jobs that shaped all of us.”
Now, the TV star gets invites to red carpets and press events all over Los Angeles. The confessional is available at select McDonald’s in New York City, Austin, Pittsburgh, and Chicago.

In exchange for sharing their first job memories, fans have a chance to win a $15 giftcard. No confessional near you? No problem. Fans can also share on social media using the hashtag “FirstJobConfessional.” The tea-spilling promo runs through summer.
