Mattel Reveals New MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Movie Toys

The long-awaited Master of the Universe movie is coming this summer, and the first trailer showed just how much Travis Knight’s movie really is the old cartoon and toy line come to life. In conjunction with the trailer, Mattel Toys revealed their collector’s line of figures, Masters of the Universe Chronicles. But young kids need He-Man toys to actually play with too. Ahead of Toy Fair, Mattel has revealed its new 5.5-inch scale MOTU movie figures, aimed at kids. Each figure is content-accurate, with authentic details and actor likenesses from the film. Each figure features 14 points of articulation and includes one signature, movie-inspired accessory. You can check them out in our gallery below:

Just like the old days, this wave of Masters of the Universe action figures is divided between the Heroic Warriors of Eternia and Skeletor’s Evil Warriors. Leading the charge is He-Man, naturally. There’s a regular He-Man figure, along with a Power Sword Slash He-Man equipped with battle action features. Joining him is his trusty Battle Cat, and the warrior goddess, Teela. Straight from Snake Mountain comes the evil lord Skeletor, and his minion Beast Man. Also, one of Skeletor’s henchmen, the Skel-Knights, is part of this wave. There’s also a Havoc Staff Attack Skeletor, with twist-and-release battle action. SRP for the regular action figures is $10.70 each, with the deluxe figures setting parents back $16.19.

Even cooler, this first Masters of the Universe movie wave features a 27-inch Power of Grayskull Power Sword, so kids can imagine themselves as He-Man, and yell “I have the power!” at the top of their lungs. The role play sword costs $43.19. There’s also a Roton vehicle for your figures, priced at $37.79. Maybe coolest of all is the talking Skeletor mask. If you open its jaw, it unleashes six phrases from the film, and four different diabolical laughs, worthy of one of pop culture’s most iconic villains. All of these new kid-centric Masters of the Universe toys should hit store shelves sometime this spring, just ahead of the film’s June release.
