Marvel fans have long hoped to see even more of their favorite characters join the MCU, but Disney doesn’t own the rights to all of them. Now that dream is closer than ever to becoming a reality, as the Mouse House is acquiring countless properties thanks to their mega-merger with Fox. That means the Fantastic Four and the X-Men could soon fight alongside the Avengers on the big screen. But it’s another beloved character who could catch the first wave of new MCU additions. On today’s Nerdist News, host Jessica Chobot grabs her intergalactic board and looks at everything we know about the Silver Surfer‘s chances of being the next iconic figure to join Marvel’s big screen roster. Kevin Feige was asked at this year’s Golden Globes about the intergalactic chrome dome’s potential future in the MCU, and his response definitely opened the door to that cosmic possibility. And even though Disney is believed to have only just finalized their deal for Fox’s entertainment properties, it could happen sooner than later, since a big name director is already clamoring to work on it.[brightcove video_id=”5988528334001″ brightcove_account_id=”3653334524001″ brightcove_player_id=”rJs2ZD8x”]Adam McKay might not be the first person everyone would think of for a Silver Surfer movie, but he’s been known to anchor(man) some pretty beloved films. Plus there’s no way he can do a worse job with the Silver Surfer than the last movie he was in.But what do you think? Do you want to see the Silver Surfer in the MCU? Would you want him introduced separately from the Fantastic Four? Is McKay the right man for the job? Surf into our comments below and share your thoughts with us.
