LOCKE & KEY Season 2 Trailer Opens the Darkest Door

Locke & Key‘s first season introduced viewers to the world’s most dangerous home. A home where the right key can open up incredible possibilities. But the wrong ones can unlock nightmares. Now the Locke family is back for another season at Netflix. And the new trailer for the show’s second year introduces the darkest door yet. One that has long haunted anyone who comes to Keyhouse.

If you thought season one of Locke & Key, based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s IDW comic book series, was frightening, this trailer promises an even more terrifying story. Dodge/Gabe is not only free. They’re determined to “finish” what they started. And that means making an even more powerful key.

Meanwhile, the past still haunts the Locke kids and their mom. And all those demons will bring everyone in that home, both past and present, face-to-face with the portal that threatens to unleash Hell on Earth. And all of this in a season that looks ready to get deep into the house’s lore. (Which fans of the comic know makes for some incredible tales.) It will also be full of monsters, some creepy creatures, and other smiling villains in disguise.

If you’re new to the show, its official logline provides the backstory for what brought the family to their unique house. (Though we definitely suggest you watch season one before diving into season two.) From Netflix:

“After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens — and will stop at nothing to steal them. From Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House), Locke & Key is a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family.”

The show also stars Darby Stanchfield (Nina Locke), Connor Jessup (Tyler Locke), Emilia Jones (Kinsey Locke), Jackson Robert Scott (Bode Locke), Petrice Jones (Scot Cavendish), Bill Heck (Rendell Locke), Thomas Mitchell Barnett (Sam Lesser), Coby Bird (Rufus Whedon), Jesse Camacho (Doug Brazelle), Asha Bromfield (Zadie Wells), Griffin Gluck (Gabe), Hallea Jones (Eden), Aaron Ashmore (Duncan Locke), Liyuo Abere (Jamie Bennett), and Brendan Hines (Josh Bennett).

Locke & Key season two debuts its 10 episode second season on October 22. You don’t need a key to watch. Just a Netflix subscription. But that’s enough to experience Keyhouse’s greatest nightmare.
