KINGDOM HEARTS Gets a PC Release for the First Time

PC gamers, rejoice. If you’ve been longing to play Square Enix’s weird game bringing together the worlds of Final Fantasy and Disney you finally can. Square Enix announced on Thursday that the Kingdom Hearts series is finally coming to PC courtesy of Epic Games Store. It will be a whole new way to experience the twisting but fun world that has only been available on consoles until now. And the titles will be available from Epic Games on March 30. That’s so soon!

If you’re only somewhat familiar with Kingdom Hearts, which debuted in 2002, the above announcement trailer will give you a peek at the world. It’s both incredibly complex and straightforward. Most of the games follow Sora, a youth who has a Keyblade to fight the Heartless. Those cruel creatures come from the Realm of Darkness and a villain is sending the darkness to consume worlds. Sora fights back with the help of Donald Duck and Goofy, emissaries from King Mickey. They travel to various worlds inspired by Disney films. A lot of weird stuff happens in between. Like, a lot.

Kingdom Hearts‘ story stretches over numerous titles in a chronology you must read a guide to fully understand. Epic Games Store will have four of those titles with 11 Kingdom Hearts experiences in total. Players will be able to get the entirety of the Dark Seeker Saga (the adventure of Sora and friends), which includes:

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX
  • Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
  • Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind DLC
  • Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory

You can get full details on each title and experience from Square Enix. If you decide to dive into this world for the first time with the PC release, brace yourself and have a blast.
