Don’t Worry, Keanu Reeves’ CONSTANTINE Sequel Is Still Happening

DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran recently announced their plans for the first chapter of the new DCU film and television slate. The on-screen world of DC Comics has already seen a lot of change latey. The Arrowverse is coming to an end. HBO Max has canceled shows like Titans and Doom Patrol. Besides the already announced DC movies coming out this year, at least one more title is safe for now: the Constantine sequel.

We learned last fall that Warner Bros. was moving ahead with a sequel to the 2005 film starring Keanu Reeves. The Constantine sequel will see Reeves reprise his role as John Constantine with the original film’s director, Francis Lawrence. And fortunately, it’s still moving forward.

A Warner Bros. spokeperson confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the Constantine sequel is still a go. This despite recent cancellation rumors swirling online. Just because it’s still moving ahead does not mean it will actually get made, though.

Happily, Keanu Reeves himself recently confirmed on a Reddit AMA that he was involved in these conversations. He noted to much excitement that he had spoken to James Gunn about the Constantine sequel. So, even though nothing is set in stone, we feel hopeful that we’ll see Reeves as the occult detective and con man once again.
