Unleash your inner rawr because it’s time to go on a dinosaur-filled adventure. Funko Games’ Jurassic World: The Legacy of Isla Nublar has stomped onto Kickstarter as the first-ever legacy game based on a major motion picture franchise. It also marks Funko Games’ design studio Prospero Hall’s first legacy game. The sprawling game will tell the entire Jurassic World franchise’s story in 12 one to two hour-long adventures. It starts before the events of Jurassic Park and goes all the way through to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom with original stories to fill the gaps between the films.

If you’re new to the concept of legacy games, they’re a variant of board games in which the game changes permanently as you play. So as you explore the world and progress through adventures, you’ll place buildings, develop dinosaurs, and more. It’s a concept that takes a little getting used to. The first time I ripped a card in half as part of a different legacy game, I nearly panicked.

Jurassic World: The Legacy of Isla Nublar‘s designed for two to four players, but they do have rules available for solo play. In this cooperative game, you’ll join a team to build the park. Players can unlock up to 12 dinosaurs and more than 21 characters, both new and familiar. The abilities, knowledge, and powers you unlock will help you in your campaigns.

Jurassic World: The Legacy of Isla Nublar is available for pre-order on Kickstarter now for $120. The Kickstarter exclusive edition comes with a deluxe alternate art cover sleeve. The box weighs over seven pounds, so you know it’s packed with materials. Those include dinosaur miniatures, adventure scenarios, stickers, and plenty of surprises. Jurassic World: The Legacy of Isla Nublar has an estimated delivery date of October 2022.
