Jeff Hays Joins DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL TV Series as Princess Donut

Crawlers, rejoice! Peacock’s upcoming Dungeon Crawler Carl series just made its first casting announcement at San Diego Comic-Con and we couldn’t be more excited about it. During a panel on July 23, book author Matt Dinniman revealed that Jeff Hays will portray Princess Donut in the Dungeon Crawler Carl TV show. That’s right, the legend behind the book’s audio versions, who expertly voices all the characters with ease, is lending his voice to this version, too.

This is something that the fans really wanted to happen (it’s me, I’m fans), and we all love good news. Just like the books, Peacock’s show will follow the titular Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s charismatic cat Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk as they go on a post-apocalyptic reality show game adventure. Princess Donut gains the ability to talk and shoot lasers/missiles from her eyes.

The book’s eighth installment, A Parade of Horribles, just came out this year, so that means there is plenty of story to mine from. Right now, we don’t know who is playing Carl, but that’s going to be some massive news when it drops. Maybe Seth Green will get his wish and portray Mordecai, too. And if they want to cast Jeff in more roles, like the AI, we’d happily embrace that.

Dinniman celebrated the news on Instagram with a post welcoming Jeff Hays as Princess Donut in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and saying he was very proud of his friend. We don’t know when filming will start nor a projected release date at this time, but we are all super excited for what’s coming in the future.
