HBO and Max is giving us yet another brief look at IT: Welcome to Derry, the prequel series to the latest It films coming in 2025. It is only a few seconds long but wow is it just as sinister as we’d expect anything to do with Pennywise the Clown, who will be played by Bill Skarsgård once again. We don’t see that evil entity make a proper appearance here. We do have a man telling us that this is not America, but Derry, suggesting that this small town in Maine is a strange space. The cast includes quite a few names I love, including Taylour Paige and James Remar, so I am locked in.
We see a welcome sign, bloody faces, screaming (of course), and a very sinister smile at the end. We still aren’t getting too many details but we should get answers about the origin story of Derry’s curse. What will we learn about Pennywise the Clown?
We will have to wait and see what happens when IT: Welcome to Derry hits Max and HBO in 2025.
