Keke Palmer Shoplifts a Shedload in I LOVE BOOSTERS Trailer

Boots Riley, the creative mind behind I’m a Virgo and Sorry to Bother You, is plenty known for his offbeat, surrealist style of directing. So, of course, we were stoked to hear that he has another film in the works. We’re finally getting our first look at I Love Boosters, a satire following a group of women shoplifters who target a cutthroat fashion maven. Moreover, we have Keke Palmer and Demi Moore pitted against one another in a shoplifting storm. Watch the RED BAND trailer below.

Immediately, the vibrant color grading alone was enough to have me hooked from the start. The trailer kicks off with a tense interaction between queen Keke Palmer and Will Poulter in an all-green ensemble (even down to his hair). It’s not like we haven’t seen the guy rock all one color before. Off the bat, the clip establishes Keke’s character as strong-willed, confident, and cutthroat. When Poulter asks what challenges she might face working at a high-end fashion store, Palmers replies, “I just want to take it all home, heat it up and shoot it out my eyes. I just feel like, ‘Give it to me. It’s mine anyway.’” That line sets the rest of the trailer up to be a wild, enticing trip. We love it.

Cut forward to Corvette (Palmer) as she’s joined by her crew. Palmer, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu, Eiza González, and Naomi Ackie make up The Velvet Gang. An iconic grouping of women. Together, the boosters smash through windows, assume extravagant disguises, and carry bundles and bundles of stolen clothes. The music plays along with the colorful imagery to paint a clear picture of the ride we’re in for. Demi Moore, naturally, plays the narcissistic fashion mogul. We see glimpses of Don Cheadle and LaKeith Stanfield, too. Neon is set to produce.

Judging from the trailer, I Love Boosters measures up to typical Boots Riley fashion. We would expect no less. With what’s gearing up to be a hyper-stylized, satirical take on corporate America and explorations of wealth and class, we couldn’t be more ready.

I Love Boosters opens in theaters on May 22, 2026.
