HEXED Begins Its Witchy Magical Journey in New Trailer

Parents don’t tell their children everything. Oftentimes, they have a very good reason for keeping something secret. Youngsters shouldn’t learn about certain topics or truths until they’re old enough to understand them. But the new trailer Disney’s Hexed shows why even the best intentions can go awry when adults keep vital information from their kids. Because when you don’t tell them that they’re actually a powerful witch with untapped power, they might find themselves in a magical realm full of enemies.

The official first full trailer for Hexed, the newest Disney animated feature, sends Hailee Steinfeld to a beautiful-yet-dangerous dimension. It’s where magical creatures and other powerful beings dwell. It’s a place her mom and fellow witch, voiced by Rashida Jones, has tried to keep her away from. But once there, she’ll have to be a quick learn to keep herself safe. Fortunately this is a Disney movie, so an adorable animal friend is there to help, Walton Goggins’ “reclusive, magical three-eyed cat,” Beef Roger Crummchuk.

But that only hints at the ultimate story that awaits. Here’s the movie’s official synopsis from Disney:

In Disney’s Hexed, an impulsive and unconventional teenage girl named Billie Doe (Steinfeld) discovers secret magical abilities which, once unleashed, hurtle her out of suburbia and into a spectacle-filled journey through a vast witch realm called Hexe. Forced to team up with her cautious mother, Alice (Jones), they uncover family mysteries that could change the world of witches forever.

Hexed comes from directors Fawn Veerasunthorn (Wish) and Jason Hand (Moana 2) with a script from Walt Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller. It also stars Tracey Ullman and Stephen Fry.

Hexed will sweep its way into theaters on November 25. Are you planning on taking your kids to see it when it does? If so, maybe make sure they know they aren’t secret witches, too. That is unless they are. Then we’re not sure if you should tell them or not. Maybe we’ll have a better answer after we see Hexed.
