Heinz Gravy ‘Floa-lloonicle’ Coming to Thanksgiving Day Parade

We were already extra excited for the 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Our favorite little green tyke in the galaxy far, far away is making his Turkey Day debut. A giant Baby Yoda will chase a little metal ball through New York City. But Star Wars isn’t the only franchise debuting a new entrant into this year’s festivities. Pirates will also invade the Big Apple this holiday season. Gravy pirates that is. Heinz is bringing Thanksgiving dinner staples to the streets, with the Floa-lloonicle. It’s part float. Part balloon. Part vehicle. And 100% absurd. Especially since it’s also getting its own children’s book.

The Kraft Heinz Company is getting into the holiday spirit by turning food into an armada. Heinz will debut its all-new Floa-lloonicle (which we first learned about at Boing Boing) at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It features a large Gravy Boat, which resembles a cartoon pirate boat. It has a canon, mast, and crossed turkey legs flag. Marching alongside will be two accompanying gravy pirates. One is a sad/shocked turkey leg dipped in a bowl of gravy. The other is a flexing serving of mashed potatoes. Based on your perspective it’s either very excited to be eaten or it’s daring you to try. Personally, we wouldn’t risk it. This heaping of mashed potatoes clearly works out.

But the fun doesn’t have to stop with the parade. You can also get your own little Grogu the new kid’s book Grace and the Gravy Pirates. Can you believe it’s The Kraft Heinz Company’s first foray into children’s literature? Yeah, we can too.

Here’s the book’s official synopsis:

“Grace and the Gravy Pirates, inspired by the iconic Thanksgiving gravy boat that comes out once a year, tells the story of a young girl and her formidable pirate pals, who embark on an adventurous voyage to fight all the things that make the holiday dry: dry food, dry conversation, and lack of fun family activities. Grace and her mighty band of Gravy Pirates save the day–and the delicious meal–to make Thanksgiving even more magical, all with beautiful, full-page illustrations charting their adventure.”

You can download the book for free at Amazon. This is great for parents who don’t want to explain this weird Heinz gravy Floa-lloonicle to their kids during the Thanksgiving Day parade. They’ll already know what it is and why those mashed potatoes wants to fight them.
