New Girl Scout Cookies Are for Dogs

We don’t get a new Girl Scouts cookie every year, so when we do, we like to savor the news. We then like to literally savor at least three or four boxes of the latest release. But in 2027 our best furry friends can also get in on the snacking fun. The organization has announced two first-of-its-kind Girl Scouts cookies. There will be a new human option that is also the group’s first allergy-friendly sweet treat. And when you order them for yourself, you’ll also be able to nab the first Girl Scouts cookie made specifically for dogs.

Girl Scouts of the USA revealed that its 2027 cookie collection will feature two all-new, online-exclusive boxes. The first new Girl Scout cookies are meant for people; these are called Girl Scout Sparkables. The organization developed them with Partake so anyone can enjoy them. Sparkables are a “crunchy oatmeal cookie” with chocolate chips and sprinkles. What makes these special is that they “avoid the nine major food allergens,” making them safe to eat for a whole lot people.

The other new item is not meant for any human. Literally. They are meant for dogs. The Girl Scouts developed their first-ever dog cookies, Patch Pals, with BARK. The doggo dessert is a “soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored” dog cookie. Each dog cookie also features one of four “patch” designs meant to represent “iconic Girl Scout experiences.” (Though that element’s more for us than the dogs.)

Not gonna lie: Patch Pals sound really good. Unfortunately for me (or, you know, fortunately), I have a strict “no eating dog food” rule. It’s a personal thing. But I hope many good dogs get to enjoy them.

They will be able to soon enough. You can order your best canine buddy a box of Patch Pals when both they and Sparkables go on sale online starting January 12, 2027. That’s when the full 2027 Girl Scouts cookie season begins. We our dogs will love Girl Scout cookies just as much as we do.
