Winter is coming. And this winter is bringing the Seven Kingdoms with it. Next year will mark the official opening of the Game of Thrones Studio Tour in Northern Ireland. Fans of the Realm who have been waiting to explore the hit series at the very place where HBO filmed much of the show can now purchase tickets.
HBO is finally ready to unveil Game of Thrones Studio Tour at and Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, Northern Ireland. It will open early next year on February 4. Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are now available for eager fans. The tour offers group, family, and individual rates. Adults can get in for £39.50 (roughly $53 US.) Children, students, and seniors can buy discounted tickets. Families and groups can also save by buying theirs together. And there are also packages that provide transportation to the exhibit from both Belfast and Dublin.
Game of Thrones enthusiasts will get to see more than just the authentic filming locations where the show came to life. The tour will feature numerous artifacts from both behind and in front of the screen. That includes seeing artistic journals and sketches. Learning about the show’s special effects and use of green screen. Information about the makeup and prosthetics used on the show. And a dive into its props and costumes.
But even without all of those extras, the tour will likely prove a feast for diehard fans. Visitors will get to see and stand on some of the series’ most famous sets. That includes the House of Black and White’s Hall of Faces, the Crypts and Great Hall of Winterfell, Castle Black along The Wall, King’s Landing, and more.
For those still wary about traveling, the tour’s official website includes a rundown of COVID-19 safety protocols. Considering what we know about the show you will also want to wear a warm coat of armor. This is a Game of Thrones tour after all. Winter is coming. And you never know when a celebration can turn into a Red Wedding.
