Unlike a lot of other streamers, we’ve got to hand it to Apple TV+. Once they’ve got a series that has excellent reviews and loyal fans, they usually see it through to the end. And that seems to be the case with For All Mankind, which Deadline is confirming will end with the upcoming sixth season, as was always the plan. The news arrives just as the sci-fi drama’s fifth season premieres on March 27, and ahead of the spinoff series Star City, which debuts on May 29.
In a statement, series showrunners Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi said, “Getting to explore the For All Mankind universe over six seasons has been an amazing privilege, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to finish the story the way we’ve always hoped. We’re incredibly proud of what this series has become, and grateful to Apple TV and Sony Pictures Television for helping us see it through to its final chapter.”

Co-created by Outlander and Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore, For All Mankind presents an alternate history. In this world, the United States never gave up the global space race. Therefore, space exploration continued at the same pace throughout the rest of the 20th century. In this alternate history, the Soviet Union beat the United States to the moon, changing the course of history. This sci-fi drama then continued throughout the decades, offering a fascinating glimpse into what might have been.
For All Mankind stars Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt. New series regulars in year five include Mireille Enos, Costa Ronin, Sean Kaufman, Ruby Cruz, and Ines Asserson. If you haven’t watched it yet, now is the perfect time to catch up on this excellent series. Seasons one through four of For All Mankind are now streaming on Apple TV+.
