Fiona Staples Returns to ARCHIE COMICS with 2 Gorgeous Variant Covers (Exclusive)

When Archie Comics relaunched their flagship title in July 2o15, they reintroduced their hapless hero and his band of buds to an entirely new generation. Gone were the classic digest style comics of the past and instead you had the gorgeous contemporary art of Saga superstar Fiona Staples. Though her original run was only three issues long, Staples had a huge impact on the new iteration of Archie, which launched numerous other titles including Jughead, Betty and Veronica, and most recently The Archies and Betty and Veronica: Vixens.

Now, we have the pleasure of revealing that Staples has returned to Riverdale with these two radical variant covers for The Archies and Betty and Veronica: Vixens. As Staples told Nerdist in an exclusive interview, “I wish I could fit more ARCHIE into my schedule, because it seems like every time I check in there’s an adventurous new twist on the gang. It’s always fun to draw these guys in new settings and situations!”

The newest additions to the Archie canon add some much needed rock ‘n’ roll to the Riverdale universe, with Alex Segura and Matthew Rosenberg’s The Archies exploring what happens when the titular teen band gain a little success. Spoiler alert: the answer is DRAMA!

Eva Cabrera and Jamie L. Rotante head up an all female creative team on the unbelievably exciting looking Betty and Veronica: Vixens. Riverdale’s favorite frenemies are now heading a female biker gang, which just sounds too good to be true, and Staples’ fantastic cover has us even more revved up for what will undoubtably be a radical ride.

Archies #2 is out on 11/02 and Betty and Veronica: Vixens hits shelves on November 15th. As is the way with comics, you can preorder them from you local comic store this month onwards!

Which of these books are you most excited to pick up? Can’t wait to catch up with the latest Archie antics? Or just dying for Riverdale to return to our screens? Let us know in the comments!
