With the return of Fallout on Prime Video, we’re not only getting the continued adventures of Lucy, Maximus, and the Ghoul in the post-apocalypse, but we get a fan-favorite location in New Vegas. More than that, however, we’re getting a live-action version of that game’s proverbial “ghost in the machine,” the long-deceased-but-alive-in-digital-form mogul, Mr. House. Justin Theroux is a delight, by the way. But that’s not the only Mr. House thing that has gone from theoretical to real. A popular meme featuring gaming’s most famous mustache on a screen has actualized.

Over a year ago, Twitter user tunnelsnakefool posted an image of Robert Edwin House’s digital visage lighting up the real Las Vegas Sphere. It’s the most big brothery big brother thing for the ruler of New Vegas. Since ad space on the real Sphere is very pricey—over $500,000 per ad—a GoFundMe even sprung up to make this happen for real.
Well, Jeff Bezos has lots of money, so Prime Video figured what the hell! On the real Las Vegas Sphere, you can see Theroux’s Mr. House to hype up Fallout season two. It’s a real-for-real thing, which the official Vegas Instagram account sharing the move. They even shout out “listening to the fans” who all wanted to see House on the Sphere. I think Amazon’s money had more to do with it, but hey.
When memes become reality, we’re weirdly closer to a Fallout than we might have otherwise been. Dibs on living in Dinky the T-Rex. Let’s hope the Boomers don’t absolutely ruin everything (again).
Fallout season two airs weekly on Prime Video.
