Dune: Prophecy‘s first episode, “The Hidden Hand,” introduces us to Valya Harkonnen, who runs the powerful organization, the Sisterhood. In her youth, Valya heard a prophecy of great doom and now seeks to use The Sisterhood’s power to prevent it. To do this, The Sisterhood attempt to influence the political powers of the Imperium and control who rules. In the first episode, we see one of their plans, to get a sister on the throne, begin to fail. A new character by the name of Desmond Hart uses mysterious fiery powers to ruin the royal wedding and also to kill Sister Kasha, a sister close to the Emperor.

In episode two of Dune: Prophecy, “Two Wolves,” we see the Sisterhood trying to understand more about the prophecy in the wake of the deaths. The favorite student of Valya’s sister Tula, Sister Lila, decides to undertake “The Agony,” a ritual that will allow her to connect with her female ancestors. She is able to learn more about the prophecy but also puts herself in mortal peril. Meanwhile, in the Imperium, the tides of power are shifting as Desmond Hart turns the throne against the Sisterhood. Rebellion is also brewing.

In episode three of Dune: Prophecy, “Sisterhood Above All,” we go back in time via flashbacks and learn about young Tula and Valya Harkonnen. Both handle their families’ griefs and burdens in different ways. Valya undergoes the agony, and Tula goes on a killing spree. But in the end, it’s Sisterhood above all. Whether that be the Sisterhood or their sisterhood remains unclear. In the present, Valya goes to visit her family members after being barred from the Emperor’s court. Tula ignores orders from her sister and tries to save Sister Lila’s life.
Dune: Prophecy Episode Four: Short Summary and Full Recap Link
In episode four of Dune: Prophecy, “Twice Born,” many threads converge. In Salusa Secundus, the high council of the Imperium is gathering and everyone is looking to make a move. Valya Harkonnen thinks she can manipulate her way into staging a rescue of the Emporer and regain her power, and she uses her nephew Harrow Harkonnen to get through the door. Meanwhile, Princess Ynez questions her father and the rebellion is planning to set off a bomb to kill the Emperor. In the end, none of this comes to pass, and it is Desmond Hart who shows off his great powers, bringing all the Great Houses to heel for Emperor Corinno… At least for now. In another dramatic ending, Theodosia’s great powers are revealed.

In episode five of Dune: Prophecy, “In Blood, Truth,” many revelations unfurl. For one, we learn who Desmond Hart really is and why he hates the Sisterhood. For another, we learn more about the mysterious powers Desmond Hart has to burn people from the inside out.
