Disney Lorcana has been about adventure since its release. The Disney-animation themed trading card game from Ravensburger has players quest for lore despite threats from villains like Ursula or an unpredictable ink flood. That said, the upcoming set emphasizes adventure more than any previous release. Disney Lorcana: Azurite Sea brings uncharted seas, pirates, and the unknown. Mystery is in the air. But one thing that isn’t a mystery any longer? Azurite Sea Enchanted cards. Nerdist has an exclusive look at four Enchanted cards from the upcoming set.
You may notice the art style differs from Enchanted cards in the past. They have a more natural feel. Ravensburger Senior Art Director Edgar Pasten tells Nerdist, “Azurite Sea is centered around high-seas exploration, so we wanted the Enchanted cards for the set to look like a collection of magical field guide notes, like pages taken directly from the Lorebooks of Illumineers sailing the Azurite Sea. To achieve that, we gave these unique cards a magical parchment texture and tonal linework with ink specific highlights.”
Four of Azurite Sea‘s Enchanted Cards include: Baymax (Big Hero 6), Sugar Rush Speedway (Wreck-It Ralph), You Came Back (Lilo & Stitch), and The Islands I Pulled from the Sea (Moana). Flip through the gallery to see them all!
Sketches, notes, and observations found in an explorer’s personal journal inspired the glimmers on the cards. And since it’s Disney Lorcana, be sure to take in the details. Pasten says, “You may find some little surprises and visual Easter eggs hidden in the art that are similar to what cartographers of old did on their maps long ago.”
Pasten notes the Enchanted cards capture the main elements of the Azurite Sea story. He explains, “When designing the cards, we directed the artists to imagine themselves as Illumineers sailing through an unpredictable sea along with their companions, iconic Disney glimmers, to help capture the essence of the incredible events that unfolded around them.”

Disney Lorcana: Azurite Sea will arrive at local game stores, Disney Stores, and Disney Parks on November 15, 2024. Azurite Sea will then hit mass market retailers and DisneyStore.com on November 25, 2024.
