Our Intrepid Heroes have returned for their third consecutive campaign, and this time, they’re going back to the fan-favorite universe of Starstruck Odyssey. The first season aired in 2022 and earned itself widespread adoration. The Intrepid Heroes—Dimension 20‘s core group of players, led by Brennan Lee Mulligan—are eternally authentic with spectacular chemistry, and there’s no finer example of that than Starstruck Odyssey. As Lou Wilson (and the teaser) might say, the ball is rolling up!
Starstruck Odyssey is the only pre-established universe that the gang has entered so far, but the origin isn’t far from home. The creative mind behind the 1980s play and comic book series is Elaine Lee, Brennan Lee Mulligan’s mom. It’s chaotic, colorful, space opera vibes have charmed many, along with the player characters the Intrepid Heroes built for the campaign. We don’t yet have confirmation whether the crew of The Wurst will return with their players, but personally, I have my fingers crossed. Norman Takamori, Big Barry Syx, Sundry Sidney, Gunthrie Miggles-Rashbax, Margaret Encino, and Reva all quickly won our hearts the first time around.
In order to catch people up and get possible newcomers excited for Starstruck Odyssey‘s second season, Dropout has put out the entire first season on YouTube. You can watch all 19 episodes in preparation for your return to the Last Frontier—or maybe your first trip! Sometimes approaching actual-play series can be a bit intimidating, but Starstruck Odyssey is approachable due to its short one season run, and the fact that it’s freeeee! There’s also plenty of fan compilations on YouTube of the campaign’s greatest moments, if you prefer a bit of a speed-run watch. I know I’ll be doing a rewatch myself, as it’s my personal favorite campaign. Anyone want to take bets on how many of the first dice rolls are Nat 1s?
