DEATH ON THE NILE Trailer Teases a Glamorous Murder Mystery

Kenneth Branagh’s 2017 Murder on the Orient Express had a truly amazing cast that would be tough for anyone to top. But he’s going to try with his next adaptation of an Agatha Christie classic, Death on the Nile. The film’s gorgeous first trailer features some our favorite performers.

It promises a story of glamour, jealousy, and murder. And, of course, wondering if Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer are the most attractive fictional couple ever.

From the official snyopsis:

“Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short. Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.”

Poor Hercule Poirot. The guy can’t take a holiday without a murder happening 20 feet away.

In addition to starring as the famous sleuth, Branagh is once again behind the camera to direct. Joining Gadot and Hammer, a pairing of impossibly attractive people that should be illegal even in a fictional setting, in the cast are Tom Bateman, Annette Bening, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, Letitia Wright, and Russell Brand.

Yeah, that really is Russell Brand! Everyone looks so stylish in this film!

Michael Green (Blade Runner 2049, Logan) wrote the script based on Christie’s 1937 novel. As of now, it has a very optimistic U.S. release date of October 23, 2020.

In addition to its great cast, the film also features a great setting. The majority of the story takes place along the Nile river, with the pyramids as a backdrop. Whether the movie proves a success or not, at least we know it will look good. Maybe a little too good, right? Well, at least until the murders begin.
