Last year, the worlds of Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog and DC’s mighty Justice League joined forces for a DC X Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration. First, we got a cool comic book mini-series uniting these two pop culture powerhouse franchises. Not long after, we also got an amazing line of toys from the folks at Jakks Pacific. Now, Jakks Pacific, Sega, and DC Comics are uniting once more to release a new wave of toys. And we were lucky enough to get our hands on several of them. We’re happy to report that coolest among the newest wave of Target exclusives is a Flash/Sonic action figure two-pack, pairing the fastest man alive and fastest hedgehog alive together at last.
DC X Sonic the Hedgehog Flash and Sonic 2-Pack
The new DC x Sonic the Hedgehog two-pack includes a 5″ Flash figure and a 2.5″ Sonic figure, with the heroic hedgehog dressed in a matching Flash costume. The Flash figure has 27 points of articulation, and is perfect for posing in a running stance with similar DC action figures of similar scale like Super Powers. We’re not sure if this is Barry Allen or Wally West under the Scarlet Speedster mask, but whoever it is, this figure has an excellent and detailed sculpt that captures the vibes of the iconic DC hero.
The 2.5″ Sonic figure that comes in this two-pack has 5 points of articulation. And we must say, he looks perfect standing next to his human counterpart. The other DC X Sonic figures in this wave include Wonder Woman and Amy, along with Green Lantern and Silver. The 2.5″ Silver is only available as part of this two-figure set. These 2-packs will set you back $19.99.
DC X Sonic the Hedgehog Shadow/Batman with Batcycle
We also received an incredible DC X Sonic the Hedgehog Shadow as Batman 5″ Figure along with his Batcycle. Obviously, Shadow and Batman together makes all the sense. And even if he doesn’t technically need a Batcycle, he sure looks cool on one! Batman’s vehicles and gadgets just make everyone look cooler somehow.
The DC X Sonic the Hedgehog Shadow as Batman figure has 22 points of articulation. This one is aimed more at kids than adult collectors. However, we are pretty sure many collectors out there can’t wait to get their hands on this bad boy as well. Some of them are likely reading this right now. You can get a good look at the packaged and loose versions of the DC X Sonic the Hedgehog Shadow/Batman on his Batcycle toy above. This toy is priced at $29.99.
Will we get even more DC X Sonic figures down the line? After all, a new mini-series is coming this spring from DC Comics. And that series could yield all kinds of potential action figures. Right now, Jakks Pacific has released all the characters from the initial comic book. But we’re sure other comics are in the planning stages. Might we see Black Doom as Darkseid, perhaps?
