Thankfully for Peter Parker, Matt Murdock is a really good lawyer. She-Hulk was also grateful he’s a good superhero, too. (Jennifer Walters also appreciated Matt’s, uh, other skills.) But MCU fans are really happy with Matt because Charlie Cox is getting his own series again. He’s heading to Disney+ with Daredevil: Born Again, and the show’s fantastic, violent new trailer reveals that even when you have a dangerous job it’s hard to walk away when a whole city is depending on you.
Oh Vincent D’Onofrio, you big beautiful brute. You, too, bearded Jon Bernthal. We’re so glad they’re now part of the MCU proper. No disrespect to the Netflix Marvel shows, but they still exist in a weird gray area of canon and continuity. (Though after this trailer, it would seem to be a lot less gray!) But while we’re happy to see all of them be a meaningful part of Earth-616’s story in any way, starring alongside Cox’s Daredevil is the best place for them to be.
But why exactly is Matt Murdock going to need to get back into action? Marvel Studios finally shared a synopsis for Daredevil: Born Again to go with the trailer:
In Daredevil: Born Again, Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.
The series will also mark the return of Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye, Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson. The show will also star Nikki M. James, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Sandrine Holt, Lou Taylor Pucci, Arty Froushan, Genneya Walton, and Clark Johnson.
If you’re ready to fight masked invaders all over the Big Apple yourself after seeing this trailer there’s extra good news. You’re going to get a whole lot of Matt Murdock. Daredevil: Born Again is getting the longest run of any single season of a Disney+ MCU show so far at 18 episodes. How did it get so many? The lawyer who negotiated the deal is really good. As is the superhero who will star on the show.
Daredevil: Born Again arrives for work, both as a lawyer and a vigilante, on March 4, 2025.
