How can cakes possibly get any better considering the fact that they’re already cakes? How about by making them hyper-realistic and yet ever so delicious? And yes, we know you’ve definitely seen hyper-realistic cakes on the internet before, but watching them get cut slowly is almost unbearably satisfying.
These dessert treats disguised as random items you’d find around your house or in your fridge or cupboards are the masterworks of Luke Vincentini, a 23-year-old cake artist who works at the world-famous Carlo’s Bakery in New Jersey. The video above (which comes via Laughing Squid) showcases just a few of his astonishingly lifelike treats, although you really only need to see a couple of them to realize Vincentini’s bake game is Jedi status anyway.
But because watching a person cut hyper-realistic cakes somehow brings contentment deep down within a human being’s DNA, here are a few more from Vincentini’s Instagram.
For those wondering, Vincentini told StoryTrender that cakes like these usually take around 14 hours. Vincentini added that “‘People’s reactions have been the best part [of having the cake video go viral]. They usually go nuts but there have been people who say it’s [sic] makes them uncomfortable to watch.'”

And while we have absolutely no idea who would feel uncomfortable rather than satisfied after watching these videos of deep-fake cake cutting, we’ll go ahead and try to understand where they’re coming from. They just can’t expect us to share when it comes time to ruin these works of art with some maniacal mastication.

What do you think of these sweet, little masterpieces? Do you want Vincentini to do every cake for every one of your special occasions for the rest of your life, or are you one of those people who are kind of creeped out by how clean these cake cuts are? Let us know in the comments!
