For Critters, there can never be enough Critical Role in a day/week/month. But even the most intrepid of adventuring parties need a long rest some of the time. That’s why in the past, Critical Role built in a set break in the campaign schedule, on the last Thursday of every month, the cast would pause for some necessary time off. Usually, replacing the episode with some non-campaign kind of content. But that last Thursday off is a thing of the past. Instead, Critical Role Campaign 4 will organize its break schedule around its story, taking breaks whenever the narrative comes to a natural close or pause. Well, we guess that sounds reasonable!

Critical Role last Thursday of the month breaks are a thing of the past. Critical Role shared about Campaign 4, “As our tale through Aramán continues onward, we’re shaking up how we rest along the way! Instead of a set last-Thursday-of-the-month break, we’ll be laying down our dice wherever the story finds a natural pause. We’ll also be taking time off around special holidays here in the States!”
Well, there you have it. Organizing the rests/breaks schedule around what works for the story of Critical Role Campaign 4 really makes the most sense. That way, the flow of the story will never have to get interrupted, but the cast can still take some well-deserved time off.

Additionally, Critical Role shared with Polygon, “There is no set cadence for when these breaks will happen or how many episodes each table will receive.” That means the Seekers table could have two breaks in a row after five episodes and the Seekers could have only one after ten. It’s really all about where the tables flow.
Critters watching Critical Role Campaign 4 will know that this campaign takes on a West Marches format. That means there are three separate tables, with a total of 13 players all playing at once, and stories that interlock and influence one another. We’ll see how this schedule affects the campaign’s overall play.
From afar, though, this seems like a great change to Critical Role Campaign 4‘s schedule! Letting stories and battles culminate and finish before a break arrives will help fans and cast members alike.
