Have you ever been at work, working your little buns off, and you just did it really well?
Whatever it is you were trying to do, you put in the work, you got it done, and if you say so yourself, you completely, totally, absolutely nailed it. While you may have gotten a trophy for it when you were a kid, now you’re an adult, so trophies don’t tend to come around as often as you used to. Wouldn’t it be nice, though? How about just a pat on the back? Some applause? If you want the latter, there’s a robot that has you covered (via The Verge).
Big Clapper, as it is appropriately named, is like the butter robot from Rick And Morty in that it has one purpose: Not passing butter, but clapping. Actually, though, the three-foot robot has a couple of basic functions: Turn it on, and when you activate its motion detector, it will clap for you and also talk to you in a “cheerful voice.” There’s definitely an adjective to describe the voice, and while “cheerful” may or may not be it (“annoying” or “creepy” might be better), there’s no denying that it’s a fun idea.
Big Clapper is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, and if you have $4,000 to spare, check out the campaign page. That price point suggests this is a product meant more for a business to use than an average consumer, but would you want one of these in a smaller and/or more affordable version? Let us know what you think down in the comments!
