Watch Homelander’s Son From THE BOYS Play WELCOME TO DERRY’s Unsettling Theme Song

It is always a delight when two fictional worlds collide in any kind of way. While we really like to see it happen in comic book pages and on screen, it is also just as fun when it happens in real life. That’s what we sort of get with this video of Cameron Crovetti, who is known for playing Homelander’s son Ryan on The Boys, playing his piano rendition of the very unsettling yet wildly popular tune from IT: Welcome to Derry. We imagine that Pennywise would not want to try to mess with a superpowered boy who has an absolutely nuts (and even more powerful) father.

Crovetti posted the video on his Instagram page to share with fans. He even put a red balloon and a yellow raincoat in the background with some candles to set the right vibe! Some joked in the comments that this is not The Boys sneak peek they were hoping to see while others complimented his incredible skills. The Welcome to Derry theme song, which is a real song by a former singing duo called Patience & Prudence, features cutesy lyrics about a girl putting on a smile and wearing a ribbon in her hair, even if things aren’t going well. The idea of a smile to hide behind real feelings resonates, especially considering Pennywise’s iconic grin.

And, in the world of The Boys, there are more than enough PR plastered smiles to hide sinister truths. I’d dare say that if Homelander had a favorite character, it would be an entity that feeds off people’s fear. We probably will never see a Boys character in this Pennywise series, but we will take this. It’s cool to see someone like Crovetti from The Boys give props to Welcome to Derry and its theme song by playing it on a piano. A smile is something special, indeed.
